Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder, professionally Winona Ryder was born in Winona Minnesota. Parents of Winona Ryder gave her the name of the town she grew up in. Her father Michel Horowitz and her mother Cynthia Palmer were authors and editors. Ryder's dad was born into a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are the half siblings of Ryder. Ryder's parents moved her and their children to Mendocino County California when Ryder reached seven. They didn't even have electricity. Ryder was a voracious book reader because there was no TV. When she turned 12 Ryder enrolled in the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. In 1986, she got her first major-screen appearance in the film Lucas at just 15 years old. Ryder was bullied in high school. She hoped that her career in acting would change that. It didn't turn out. It didn't stop her from pursuing dreams. Her big break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in a variety of films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her performance as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
